Study Domestic Arbitration at UCLan
As emphasis shifts from litigation to dispute resolution, Lancashire Law School is leading the way in the delivery of professional courses in Arbitration, both domestic and International.
Our ‘Introduction to Domestic Arbitration’ is a Lancashire Law School Professional training course which provides a foundation in the law and practice of arbitration in England and Wales. Arbitration is a non-judicial process for the settlement of disputes where an independent third party- an arbitrator – makes a decision that is legally binding.
The course provides the first steps on the pathway to developing a practice as an arbitrator, whether as a secondary legal career or as a primary vocation. The face-to-face training can take place over one full day or over 3 evening sessions.
Study Arbitration at UCLan and pickup valuable skills:
- Effectively build rapport with clients
- Enhance listening and communication techniques
- Gain skills in dispute resolution
On completion of this course, you will have been introduced to the general principles of arbitration and the legal framework, procedures and ethics that underpin and guide arbitrations under the Arbitration Act 1996. Successful completion of the course, including its assessed component, will qualify you to apply for Associate membership (ACIArb) of the world renowned Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb).
